There is a very nice Swiss cheese on that with Whole Foods sourdough bread, and topped with creamy avocado.
Generous chive butter and seasoning is added to the 85% fat hamburger. I wanted this to have a lot of fat, an excessive amount.
No dressing. I wanted the hamburger to be wet so the seasoned burger is finished with beef stock. The stock picks up flavor from the burger and concentrates to a more flavorful liquid. Sourdough toast is soaked in the liquid on one side. Sourdough toast is quite hard and tends to scratch the mouth that is why it is briefly soaked, to tame its harsh abrasive ways and to make it literally more palatable by dampening the crusty bread's ability to scratch the palate.
