Brownies with pecans and raisins

And extra couverture chocolate, extra coco powder, an extra egg, extra sugar, extra oil and salt and extra flour. That is, 50% more elements.

I also have chocolate liquor, but what am I, insane?

As you know brownies are a failed chocolate cake.

They were invented in 1831 by Debrah Brownie by mistake. She forgot to add baking powder to her cake mixture so that left the leavening to eggs. And that wasn't enough. They crusted over and never rose properly. They were too dense.

Her husband, Douglas Brownie said, "Oh, come on Debrah, stop crying. Look, me and my mates love them. Look, we're eating them. They're delicious. Stop crying." Then addressing his mates, "Aren't they delicious. Tell her they're delicious."

His poker buddies said, "Sure. Sure. We're eating them. They're delicious."

They laughed because they thought Debrah crying about her failed cake was ridiculous. Buck up, Sister, bake another cake for crying out loud.

They continued to eat them with coffee with whiskey because they were hungry and named them "Debrahs."

Later she started a Girl Scout group for girls too young to join the regular Girl Scouts. Debrah and Douglas made uniforms for them that were brown and named them after herself,  "The Debras."

She also invented a delivery service that used the same shirts named "Debrah" but that didn't go anywhere for over a hundred years until the name was changed to "United Parcel Service."

Much later, after she died, those two things, failed chocolate cake and the young Girl Scout group were re-named "Brownies" because her husband was a very big part of both things and Debrah had hogged all the attention and credit. The re-naming sought to correct that.
