Salt roasted whole chicken with pineapple, berries

This package sure brags a lot. It brags about not doing things that are illegal to do. "We do not mix buckshot in with our chicken feed."* 

Oh man, that sure is a good thing.

* Federal regulations prohibit mixing buckshot, bbs, ballbearings, metal beads, or anything metal or wood or plastic into poultry feed. 

I don't care about these things. I care if the chickens get to run around in a yard. I see people raising chickens this way and that's what I want. A farmer. Homesteader. They raise a hundred chickens for themselves. Those chickens would cost like $50.00 each because the farmers are out there feeding them everyday. Fresh water everyday. Protecting from predators. Weather and bees. Weird diseases and problems. Chicken fights. Chicken bullies. A lot goes into raising chickens even the fast ones for meat.

A friend of mine is a very good cook. He is very specific about roasted chicken. He told me that chicken goes, not done -- not done -- not done -- not done -- dun -- OVERDONE!
