The Gruyère cheese is Swiss and the cheddar cheese is Irish so they don't really fit.
And then the sausage is American. The chile peppers originated in Mexico and the wonton wrappers are Chinese so these poppers are internationally inclusive.
Originally the filling was lavishly extravagant, rare species slain with no care and eaten just to be luxuriously rank and self-indulgent, basically lewd and lascivious. They wrapped all that wanton waste thus the original name "wanton wrappers."
