Buttered egg noodles, rock fish patties

This is the last photo.

The rest of the photos show how I got from a few elements to this.

Pineapple and jalapeño focaccia, roasted beef sandwich

* pineapple
* jalapeño
* garlic

Instead of olive and tomato and anchovy and whatever junk everyone else puts into these things.

Terrible sandwich. Couldn't finish it.

I've got plenty of room in my stomach for more food, but no more room for another single bite of this oily sandwich.

Hang on.

*Eats another bite. Masticates. Swallows.* Nope. No more room. Nowadays I listen to my body and my body says no to this.

Wait a sec.

*Eats another bite. Masticates. Swallows.* See? I told you, no more room. Closed to business. I'll eat something else later because this is really oily and gross.

No more proof is needed. This is my determination, not some court of law.

*Eats another bite. Masticates. Swallows.* I'm convinced. That does it. No more of this crap. It's terrible. The dog I am watching is sniffing this whole thing inquisitively.

No. I must stop. Seriously. Simply stop.

*Eats another bite. Masticates. Swallows.* Yeah, that's it. No more of this. The dog is judging my reaction.

I am losing my touch. This focaccia is horrible. Really, it's like I do not know what I am doing. Fire the cook!

        "That's me."

Then fire myself. That'll teach me.

Chocolate banana milkshake with peanut butter

Step 1: freeze banana without the peel.

See, I had dropped to 137 lbs and that is quite low for a 6' dude. Shockingly low. And now I am 141 lbs so that's an increase of what, some 4 lbs. So this milkshake with banana and peanut butter diet has at least that going for it. At least.

Besides, it tastes great.

Crab dashi with tofu and napa and tomato

The shells of 2.5 snow crabs was simmered for ten minutes and then steeped with kombu overnight. All that was strained for a clear broth. Drizzles of 4 of the Asian flavor elements pushed out the profile; soy sauce, toasted sesame seed oil, rice vinegar and sugar. See? Sweet and sour right there.

There are a lot of elements around here that I could have used and usually do, but this turned out for me very well.

I practiced listening to my body and the result is this bowl of hospital food.

My mind forced my eyeballs to show myself each item then wait for my body's decision that turned out to be no, no, no, no, no. No to tuna, no to salmon, no to shrimp, no to rockfish, no to chicken, pork and to beef. No to regular cabbage, no to carrots, no to onion, leeks, scallions and chives. No to garlic. No to mushrooms. No to radishes. No to ginger. No to broccoli. No to peas. No to cucumber and to chiles.

Why all the no answers?

I don't know. All that I know is keep it simple. Very simple. Very very simple.

The other thing that I know is this really does hit the spot. I am glad half is leftover because I am getting it right now.

How 'bout an egg?

Eh, well, maybe perhaps, by chance, somewhat, a little bit. Possibly.

Snow crab cakes, asparagus, mushrooms

Joshua said, "These fresh ones are miles ahead of the pre-picked ones but they are twice the cost."

This whole thing is dearly expensive. In cost, because the increment had better be especially great, and in time especially when you do not know what you are doing. This is the biggest nit-picky thing imaginable. It goes: pick pick pick pick pick pick pick snap pick pick pick snap snap snap pick pick pick pick over and over and over for every tiny segment of leg for every tiny molecule of possible meat. The pieces are way too small. It's similar to king crab except a lot smaller.

Ugh.

We had king crab all the time '64-'67 because we were so close. I thought back then at age eleven what a total drag the whole thing is. This snow crab is a lot worse because the payoff is even more tiny.

I am a terrible crab picker. There are bits of invisible things throughout these patties.

Neither Joshua nor Thomas Joseph used Old Bay.

Commenters on other sites describe Joshua as nearly intolerable millennial d-bag but I must say the guy cracks me up. He had me stopped flat laughing at him slapping his own butt. In those stupid thin Target gym shorts. Showing his oversized butt all the time, proud of its reduced protuberances. He reminds me of one of my friends. Joshua lost 100 lbs. My friend was much heavier than that. My friend's nickname at school was Haystack. The other students  were naturally cruel. And hilarious. Subjected to torment like that Gary is equally realistically-cynically hilarious.

It looks like Joshua is using snow crab while the type of crab in the pre-picked container was never made clear. Wait. 3rd viewing, that is not snow crab. He has something else. They might be two different types of crab. My crab came out mostly as threads. Because I do not know what I am doing. I found picking extremely frustrating.
