Rice, leftover bits and shredded lettuce soup

These are two unrelated leftover things reheated separately and combined in the serving bowl. I guess the decision is visual, it would be easier to reheat them together and doing it this way messes another bowl unnecessarily and that transgresses the bachelor's code, a primary objective. And yet I do heat them separately and wastefully mess that other bowl so that I can then put the two thing together like this. The odd thing is, there is nobody else around here right now to appreciate that extra effort, small as it is, so who am I trying to impress anyway with my dolled up leftovers? Who am I trying to be extra nice to? Huh?

Myself?

I guess I am, I am being nice to myself.

I suppose I should say, thank you.

Yes, that's it. Of course. Thank you. Now do the dishes.

Hamburger patty without bun, napa cabbage, tomato, shredded cheese, basil

It's a bit of a mess but it sure does taste good.

This is the last of the red bean chili with banana.

And a hamburger patty.

And some salad stuff.

And some shredded hard Italian cheese. The undisputed reigning champion of all cheeses. The emperor of cheeses. The faultless pope-emperor of all cheeses ever, that has deigned to lower itself to common elements, but fails in reaching downward fully so that it sits not quite touching as a cloud daintily wafting above a hill of mud. That's what this cheese is to this hamburger and chili.

Red bell pepper

I. am. so. sorry.

I got lost there in a little pile of red pepper.

I started following tiny mustard seeds and they led me all around. It's their fault. I could have kept right on going. The only reason I stopped is because I got tired of seeing red pepper vistas unfolding before me and I kinda wanted to return to the land of people.  You guys.

I learned something. If you put mustard seeds in a hot pan they explode like popcorn right out of the pan. It's fun. I imagine it could be dangerous. Half the mustard seeds popped out of the pan before I could cover them. They still pop but they burn exploded open in the pan. So add mustard seeds last and have a lid ready. Or turn off the heat for non-splody mustard seeds.

Do you know what? Maybe I should mention this. The light at the restaurant the other night was yellow. Very low low low warm yellow. So I turned up the ISO in the camera to 1000 which is quite high and would ruin most photographs. The bad thing is, I forgot to roll it back and the next few sets were shot at inappropriately high ISO. These photos are unnecessarily noisy. That's a word they use to describe this situation. The difference between the startling sharpness this lens produces and this set of pictures is the difference between extremely high ISO and appropriately set low ISO.  And so I learned my lesson, I sure did, and that lesson is: try to be smarter.

Breaded, fried pork strips

This is more of the little pork roast shown earlier. A piece is cut off, like a boneless pork chop, flattened between plastic, spiced up, floured and shallow fried.

Dog's eight stomachs

It is important to understand your pet's alimentary requirements. To that end it is useful to know how their bodies process food. It may seem strange but with dogs everything revolves around smell. Their brains are geared for that.

Ignore the first part down there ↓ that  is something in the notebook unrelated to dog stomachs.
