Avocado, iceberg salad, blu cheese dressing

I've been thinking about this since half an avocado ago. The unused avocado half was rubbed with lemon and reserved cold inside a sandwich bag.

Last of the red beet salad made previously included here, Boy, that was good and the remainder kept quite a while. Now it is gone. Those roasted beets with sweet/sour pickled onion are worth having around.

Blu cheese is made from regular mayonnaise, heavy cream, blu cheese, BOOM, done. This adds crumbled blu cheese the remainder of homemade ranch dressing made previously that incorporates the same things with sour cream. So two separate previous salads enlivened for this.

Blue cheese dressing

There is no recipe here. Cream to fill about half this jar, mayonnaise to change to desired viscosity and fill to about 3/4th full, then half the cheese tested, not enough, added all the rest. So three ingredients only, in combination to suit myself.

I do not know anything about this cheese. My fear is it is too weak. I want an abundance of chunks in each serving, none of this one tiny lonesome lost chunk per serving, no siree, this is an embarrassment of abundant blue cheese, totally lumpy blue cheese dressing, so maybe best that it is not so strong. Anyway, it has a few hours to meld.

I'll pawn off the excess onto somebody, probably leave it with the hosts.

edit: There was excess. But only a few tablespoons, maybe a quarter cup, half a cup at most, the bottom of this jar. Taken home by another guest. The next day the host called and said this type of dressing is his favorite, adding that he was first to finish his salad. I said, he must have had one of the smaller ones, and he returned, that he served the salads himself and took the one with the most dressing, just to be a hog about it. And I think that is very funny. But it tells me, I can just whip out a jar and hand it to him and it would be a very good gift. And so too for the person who took the jar home.

Hamburger, blue cheese, basil and mint, buns

Are these gigantic photos overkill? La la la.

Here are the buns wot bin made at home.

Top round steaks, rather large, ground earlier here then seasoned and frozen.

The hieroglyphic means "h-t-p"  + "t" +"p", a bit of redundancy there. It depicts a loaf of bread set upright on an offering mat, its sound value is "hotep," some say "hetep," and that means "satisfied." It is an important sign that one sees a lot in names, usually as in,  "[some god] is satisfied," Ra Hotep, Amun Hotep, Aten Hotep, etc.

Granny Smith apple, blue cheese

Afternoon snack that takes about ...

* 30 seconds to prepare.

* 5 minutes to photograph, determining settings, setting up lighting, changing lenses and such, playing with the camera and equipment.

* 1 minute to wolf down like an unmannered animal.

* 2 seconds to make sure nobody is watching.

* 10 seconds to lick plate.

* 10 minutes transferring photos to laptop, creating files, opening programs, converting to DNG, importing to Photoshop for further conversion to TIFF, resizing, adjusting, fixing, saving and converting again to JPG for internet, closing programs.

* 5 minutes uploading photographs to Flickr, opening programs and browser windows and websites and blog and writing how impossibly delicious and intriguing the combination of sweet/tart/crisp apple with creamy/biting/umami/stinky/salty cheese, copying/pasting html code, addresses and such, checking, closing programs, windows, browser.
