Salad, lettuce, tomato, avocado, tube pasta, pine nuts

Apparently, these genetically modified super hybridized strains of tomatoes are constructed to last the apocalypse. I've been watching this thing turn for over two weeks and it's still firm.

Speaking as a cook, as a consumer, as a person concerned for their health, as a guy who already eats fungi, molds, and bacteria in various forms, do you think that it is possible to work around the necrosis and salvage this vegetable or fruit or whatever? Is that even worth considering?

Let's see.

Well I certainly hope not about the dying part. I don't have a problem cutting the mold off cheese and then eating it. Although it rarely happens because cheese usually does not last that long in my house.

Is this http://tinyurl.com/6nxg8b4 the same tomato that was harmed in the production?
