honey roasted pecans

I watched six videos on YouTube and they're all ridiculous. One was a guy opening a can of honey pecans and eating them. In the end, do whatever you wish. Some mixed honey with maple syrup. Some used butter. 

Chefs always toast nuts, at least heat them somehow, sometimes in a pan or microwave, to excite the oil molecules within them. Nuts have their own oil so I don't quite get the impulse to add butter.

1) honey added in layers as the pecans are added to the bowl to help distribution.
2) cinnamon
3) chipotle powder
4) ginger powder
5) vanilla extract

Bake at 400℉ for 8 minutes, stir, bake another 6 minutes or so. I baked mine longer and they're a little bit overdone. 

They go like this: not done, not done, not done, not done, not done, burnt.
