miso soup with vegetables


Not shown, kombu and bonito dashi. That's a type of edible kelp and dried flakes of skipjack tuna steeped into a kind of gentle seafood tea at lower than boiling temperature. It's shown here on this blog many times. 

The orange cubes are cubed sweet potato. 

Now, who does that? Nobody. Nobody puts sweet potato and broccoli and jalapeño with tofu in miso. The very idea is ridiculous. Miso soup is a sort of preprandial starter but here I'm having it for dinner.
